The Hoyt SCTR CDM and Spec Mod Systems bring a new level of customization and performance to archery, offering a choice between adjustable draw length modules and draw length-specific mods. The SCTR CDM Module provides archers with a 3-inch draw length range, designed to fit the most common draw lengths. For example, the Hoyt Concept X 37 with a CDM mod covers draw lengths from 26” to 29”, with ½” adjustments at each position. This makes the CDM module highly versatile, delivering smooth performance while allowing archers to fine-tune their setup.

On the other hand, the SCTR Spec Mods offer draw length-specific performance, giving competitive archers the optimized, full-draw feel they expect. These mods are engineered to provide the ultimate balance between speed and efficiency across all draw length positions. While rotating modules like the CDM mod are often less efficient than draw length-specific mods, Hoyt has designed the CDM to provide impressive speeds, rivaling the Spec mods. Typically, the CDM only trails the Spec mods by around 5 fps at worst, offering shooters near-spec mod performance but with the convenience of adjustable draw length.

The primary difference between the CDM and Spec mods lies in the full-draw feel. Archers who prefer the firmer, more defined wall of higher-performance cam systems will likely prefer the Spec mod, which offers a feel reminiscent of Hoyt’s SVX cam system. In contrast, the CDM mod provides a softer, less aggressive feel at full draw, making it an excellent option for archers who prefer a more forgiving experience.

The SCTR Cam system also incorporates Hoyt’s adjustable draw stop, or “mod foot.” Each Concept X/FX bow comes with a standard mod foot, allowing for let-off adjustments between 65%, 70%, and 75%. For archers seeking even more precise let-off control, the optional “Tweener Mod Foot” is available, offering in-between settings of 67.5%, 72.5%, and 77.5%. This enables advanced users to fine-tune the holding weight and full-draw feel to their exact preferences. Additionally, by swapping the mod feet between the top and bottom cams, shooters can further adjust the wall feel, selecting between “Hard” (H) and “Extra-Hard” (XH) settings for a firmer or softer experience.

With precise let-off adjustments indexed on the module, Hoyt ensures that draw stops are consistently aligned, allowing for smooth cam timing. Archers can also make micro-adjustments to their strings and cables to fine-tune draw length, valley, and holding weight. Hoyt’s WireWRX strings are specially engineered to work in harmony with the SCTR cam system, ensuring maximum efficiency and tunability.
